#bBold Bee Profile - Meet Kelley

Q: Where are you from?

A: Dallas, TX #dallitude

Q: What do you do for a living?

A: I work in intellectual property for Facebook. I love my job…it is engaging, challenging, and keeps me insanely busy!

Q: What does “being bold” mean to you?

A: “Being bold” means not caring what others think. It means taking chances and staying true to yourself even when it is difficult.

Q: Where’s your favorite place to eat bold flavors in #ATX?

A: Sway (on South 1st) offers the yummiest Thai fusion in town. If you’re looking for crazy combinations that somehow work perfectly together, you must try it!

Q: Can you share with us your current “songs I LOVE” playlist? It’s sure to be bold.

A: I created a #bBold playlist that is a mixture of my two favorite genres: hip-hop and indie beats. From mainstays Drake & Robyn to newcomers Tinashe & AlunaGeorge, this playlist is sure to get you moving!

Q: Do you have a personal motto? Something to keep you going when you’re feeling not-so-bold?

A: I remember the first time I heard Postal Service’s “Clark Gable” where Ben Gibbard sings, “I want life in every word to the extent that it’s absurd.” This sentiment resonates with me to this day. It reminds me to never simply “go through the motions” of life but to be fully present and emotionally connected to every moment.

Q: If you could have dinner with anyone who has ever existed, whom would you choose? You can pick as many people as you want…it’s a dinner party.

A: Fashion has been my first love since the age of 2, so I would choose various influential members of the community (and bad B’s in their own right): Coco Chanel, Anna Wintour, Kate Moss, Diane Von Furstenberg, and Rachel Zoe. These women have broken all the rules and redefined traditional gender roles to become leaders of their industry.

Shameless plug: my very own fashion blog, The Fashion Rebel, launches on 8/1. It is all about being bold. Check it out!

Q: Who out of the attendees above would you consider to be the most “bold” and why?

A: While all the ladies are icons, I think Anna Wintour may be the boldest. Considered a #girlboss, she sets high expectations for herself and those around her. Her unwavering commitment to excellence has made her THE most important figure in modern-day fashion. Plus, she has effortless style and poise.

Q: How does Kor180 help you #bBold?

A: Kor180 has pushed me out of my fitness comfort zone. As a life-long runner, I became complacent and Kor180 has encouraged me to try something that doesn’t come as naturally. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger (and bolder), right?
